Cleaning of the violin and bow

- during germ season

 

Cleaning-alcohol wipes can be used on 

  • the chin rests and its brackets

  • strings and fine tuners

  • the frog and thumb leather on the bow

 

Alcohol wipes are ok if the wipe is not overly saturated by moisture on

  • fingerboard and pegs

  • the part of the bow stick where the fingers touch

 

Use dry microfiber cloth to clean 

  • the wood body

 

Do not use alcohol wipes on 

  • the instrument body 

  • on the bow hair

 

Alcohol can be harmful to varnish and wood

 

Clean your instrument occasionally. Don’t use cleaning alcohol to frequently.

After one thorough cleaning, make it a habit 

-    to always washing your hands before using your instrument
